Berwick were without Adam Pietraszko and Joachim Kugelmann for this match so they drafted in Freddie Eriksson and John Branney as replacements. Hull were at full strength.

Hull won at Berwick last year and it looked at one point as though they were going to do so again. However two 5-1s for the Bandits in heats 14 and 15 put paid to that. Two 4-2s to either side saw the first four heats shared before the Bandits took a 5-1 in heat 5 after Paul Thorp had fallen and was excluded from the rerun. They stretched their lead to six points with a 4-2 from Rymel and guest Eriksson in heat 6 but any thoughts of a comfortable victory disappeared as Hull got the bit between their teeth.

A 1-5 from Kramer and Dicken in heat 7 was followed by a 2-4 in heat 8 when Sanchez burst into life for the one and only time in the evening to head home Eriksson and Parsons. Suddenly the scores were tied again at 24-24. Garry Stead won heat 9 to keep the scores level before Berwick were ahead again. Adrian Rymel had his third consecutive heat win with Freddie Eriksson in third place and Piotr Dym’s only heat win of the evening in heat 11 kept the Bandits two ahead.

Hull then posted a 1-5 thanks to Lee Dicken and Craig Branney from Cartwright and Schramm and followed this up with a 2-4 in heat 13 when the unfortunate Rymel blew his engine. Berwick now faced the last two heats trailing 37-41. However Chris Schramm came to the rescue following his partner Michal Makowsky home for a Berwick 5-1 in heat 14 to tie the scores with only heat 15 to come. In the deciding race Michal Makowski blocked Garry Stead on the first bend and team rode with Adrian Rymel leaving Garry Stead chasing in vain as the Bandits finished with another 5-1 to give them a four point win.
