Berwick who are making a determined bid for the Championship again used R/R for Scott Smith at number 2 but were otherwise at full strength. Somerset were again without both their regular reserves out through injury. In their places the Rebels had Rob Grant and Benji Compton. Somerset were defending a 6 point lead for the bonus point.

It was not the start that Berwick wanted when Magnus Zetterstrom won the opening heat from Adrian Rymel with Carl Wilkinson suffering an engine failure leading to a 2-4 for the Rebels but three heats later they were 10 points up after three consecutive maximums for the Bandits took the heat 4 score to 17-7.

In heat 5 Magnus Zetterstrom took a TR but finished second to Adam Pietraszko for a 4-4. Berwick stretched their lead to 12 points with a 4-2 when Glenn Cunningham split the Rymel/Schramm pairing. Paul Fry then won heat 7 from Makovsky but Ritchie Hawkins fell and the heat was shared. Another Berwick 4-2 in heat 8 from Pietraszko and Wilkinson with Jaimie Smith second made the score after 8 races 32-18 and Berwick now had an eight point aggregate lead as well.

Pietraszko and Madsen scored a 5-1 in heat 9, despite the attentions of Glenn Cunningham, to consolidate their position but Somerset lost no further ground over the next four heats. Ritchie Hawkins won heat 10 from Rymel and Wilkinson for a 3-3 then Zetterstrom did likewise in heat 11 beating Makovsky and Schramm. In heat 12 Ritchie Hawkins took a TR. In the first running of the race, Berwick fans were aggrieved when the referee excluded Carl Wilkinson when he fell after being taken wide by Madsen and Hawkins. In the rerun there was a superb race between Madsen and Hawkins but the Berwick rider won through. Since Rob Grant picked up the third place point the race resulted in a 3-5 to the Rebels to take the score after 12 heats to 46-30.

In heat 13 Magnus Zetterstrom finished second to Adrian Rymel in the best race of the night as the two of them went head to head. With Michal Makovsky third Berwick took a 4-2 and they followed that up with a 5-1 in heat 14 as Adam Pietraszko completed his paid maximum. Magnus Zetterstrom then had the satisfaction of taking the last race for a share of the points.
