Reading had Peter Collyer at number 6 tonight in place of Chris Johnson while Hull once again used R/R for Emiliano Sanchez at number 1 and had Daniel Giffard at number 7. Happy times have returned to Reading it seems with their three heatleaders all going through the card unbeaten. In fact Hull provided only one race winner all match and that was from their replacement reserve Daniel Giffard in heat 2! With the home side in such dominant form Hull did not do too badly to score 36 points. An opening heat 5-1 from Bird and Simota was followed by the first of Hull’s three heat advantages – a 2-4 in heat 2 from Giffard and Terenzani. Emil Kramer split the Appleton/Wolff pairing in heat 3 for a home 4-2 then Matej Zagar and Mathieu Tressarieu scored a 5-1 at the expense of Garry Stead to open up a Reading lead of 16-8 after four heats. Another Appleton/Wolff 4-2 in heat 5 was followed by another Bird/Simota 5-1 in heat 6 as Hull began to lose touch completely with the Racers. However they won heats 7 and 8 thanks to TRs. Emil Kramer on a TR in heat 7 followed Zagar home. With Craig Branney third Hull scored a 3-5 and they repeated that in heat 8 when Paul Thorp took a TR and followed Simota home with Terenzani third. These two heat advantages pulled four points back for the Vikings and the score after eight heats was 31-21. Andrew Appleton and Matej Zagar continued on their winning ways taking heats 9 and 10 but Hull filled the minor places to share them both in heat 11 Garry Stead had an engine failure as Matej Zagar wont the race which let Paul Collyer score a point for the Racers in a 4-2 win which extended their lead to 12 points. Another Appleton win in heat 12 resulted in another shared heat as the Vikings hung on and the score after 12 races was 44-32. Heat 13 resulted in the inevitable 5-1 from Bird and Zagar then in heat 14 Mathieu Tressarieu beat Emil Kramer for a 4-2 before Matej Zagar and Andrew Appleton completed their paid maximums with a last heat 5-1 to extend the Racers lead to 22 points.
